Biography

Mario Quintanilla was born in Monterrrey Mexico, he studied with Pedro Salcedo in the Escuela Superior de Musica y Danza de Monterrey . In 2008 he concluded his musical studies graduating with the higiest score. He has taken several master clases with distinguished international performers such as Leo Brouwer, Oscar Ghiglia, Marco Tamayo, Marcin Dylla, Ricardo Gallen, Denis Azabagic, Judicaël Perroy, Giampaolo Bandini, Juan Carlos Laguna, etc. He has performed in the most important concert halls in all Mexico, Canada and Italy.


In April, 2005, during the V International Guitar Festival in Monterrey, he released in Mexico the national prmier El concierto de Bayoan for guitar and orchestra of the guitarist and composer Ernesto Cordero, who at the end of the concert in an interview of television for cable said: " I see a great future to the guitarist Mario " in October of the same year he took...a course of development in Parma Italy with the guitarist Giampaolo Bandini, in the Musical Academy of the Theatre Cinghio.


In January, 2008 he gain a scholarship of the FONECA in the Performer's branch to perform 4 Sonatas of the 20th century and in November of the same year he release the national premier in Mexico of the Fantasia Concertante of the guitarist composer Nikita Koshkin. In November, 2009 in the V International Guitar Festival Juvenile of Tepoztlán he released worldwide premier the work Alebrijes of the Mexico City of the Guitarist and Spanish Composer Eduardo Garrido. In the Year 2010 he relese the premier in Monterrey of the concierto No 2 for guitar and orquestra "El Alevin" from de Mexican composer Eduardo Angulo


Mario Quintanilla shared stages with several international famus artists like Susan Hoeppner playing in duo in the International Festival of Flute 2010 of Monterrey, he has played with the Cuatrista Edwin Colon during the International Festival of Guitar Monterrey 2010 and with the famus international guitarists Marco Tamayo, Anabel Montesinos and Jaime Márquez interpreting the concierto andaluz for 4 guitars and Orchestra Honoring the famus composer Joaquín Rodrigo's in the International Guitar Festival of Monterrey in 2011.


He has recently form the Duo Nuevo LatinoAmericano with one of the most active Mexican-Canadien flutist Alhelí Pimeinta. Mario Quintanilla also has obtained several important prizes in National Guitar Competitions in Mexico making him one of the most actived  young classical guitar performers. Mario has develop a new technic for classical guitar for having a great sound and now he is doing his own method writting it and in the future maked published.


Mario has won several Classical Guitar Competitions in Mexico. He is one of the best youngest guitar players in Mexico.
